Michael Perkin lives and works in Oakland, California.

He studied painting, ceramics and printmaking at the University of Oregon and the San Francisco Art Institute.

Since then he has painted steadily for 25 years, exploring different materials and media -- including oil, watercolor, sumi ink, and silkscreen printing.

He has continued to work in ceramics and has also published a series of anthologies of fiction, poetry and art under the imprint of Elephant Printing.

He has exhibited his work in group and solo shows in Portland, San Francisco, and throughout the bay area.
